Position Summary:

The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business and expanding client relationships by promoting TÜV SÜD’s testing and certification services. This role involves prospecting leads, conducting client meetings, delivering technical presentations, and supporting sales strategy execution. The ideal candidate will identify customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and collaborate with internal teams to drive growth and ensure client satisfaction. This position is onsite in Alpharetta, GA.

Responsibilities:

- Prospecting & Lead Generation

- Proactively research and identify new business opportunities through networking, industry events, and targeted market research.

- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads in sectors such as Industrial Products, Consumer Goods, Machinery, Laboratory Equipment, Cybersecurity, and Energy Products, with a strong emphasis on Product Certification services.

- Conduct in-person meetings with both assigned and self-sourced prospects to establish relationships and identify sales opportunities.

- Work with key laboratory personnel to convert leads

- Technical & Service Engagement

- Promote a comprehensive range of testing and certification services, including but not limited to:

- EMC Testing

- Wireless Testing & Global Certifications

- Electrical Safety Testing

- Cybersecurity Testing

- Energy Storage Testing

- International Compliance & Global Market Access

- Conduct discovery meetings with clients to assess business needs and regulatory requirements.

- Draft internal test plans aligned with relevant standards to support quotation development.

- Create and deliver customized technical presentations to address client-specific challenges.

- Relationship Management

- Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients and collaborate closely with internal account teams.

- Provide consistent and professional post-sales support to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

- Identify and act on opportunities to expand service offerings within existing accounts.

- Sales Strategy & Execution

- Present TÜV SÜD’s portfolio of services and develop tailored solutions to meet client requirements.

- Strategically plan and prioritize daily sales activities to meet or exceed established targets.

- Represent TÜV SÜD at industry conferences and trade shows to gain insights and enhance professional visibility.

- Market Intelligence & Process Enhancement

- Monitor and report on market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to support continuous sales strategy refinement.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve sales processes and enhance overall client experience.

Qualification

Education and Experience: 

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related technical field required. 

- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or technical sales—preferably in the testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) industry or related technical services sectors.

- Demonstrated success in outside sales roles with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

- Experience selling services related to compliance, testing, certification, or engineering is highly desirable. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and a focus on results.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
