General Summary

The position of Sales Consultant a part of the ARISE Inc. business unit, whose mission is to supply superior service to our client base in the areas of Shop Inspection activity, Jurisdictional Inspection Services and Risk Analysis activity.

The main focus of this position is to support our ambition of becoming the leading provider of Boiler & Machinery Jurisdictional & Risk Engineering Services.  The main objective of this position is the identification, cultivation, and development of new and existing business channels as well as large direct client relationships pursuit. A strong working knowledge of the ARISE Inc. business model and office process is required. 

The Sales Consultant responsibilities include participating in strategic planning with the ARISE President and Treasurer.  The Sales Consultant will partner with ARISE operations (administrative and engineering) for specialized client service planning/programs.  The Sales Consultant personal account portfolio shall be maintained with the eventual transition of designated clients or channels to ARISE Account Managers. 

The position is home based and requires a strong degree of self-motivation. Travel can be intensive during peak demand periods. On average travel will be approximately 30%-40% to attend client & staff meetings as required. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing new business channels while consulting the ARISE President, with the assistance of the Account Management team.
  • Developing a detailed Sales & Marketing Plan to generate new-new business. 
  • Identifying Target Clients/Channels to develop new business.
  • Qualifying Target Clients/Channels to develop new business.
  • Conducting marketing visits with channels to develop new clients.
  • Respond to RFP/Opportunities to quote.
  • Consulting with office/field managers if client requests non-standard service delivery to make sure ARISE can deliver requested service.
  • Communicating any agreed-upon non-standard servicing procedures to office staff for implementation.
  • Providing clients and business channels with ARISE resources as required to ensure a high retention rate of ARISE clients (>95%). 
  • Working with ARISE Account Manager and Quoting Specialist personnel in promoting account profitability and efficient use of ARISE resources for account renewal, highlighting instances of inefficiency or lack of profitability for account audits. 
  • Attending marketing functions when deemed to make business sense.
  • Attending and participate in Marketing Trade Shows and Conferences when deemed appropriate.
  • Interfacing/Mentoring TUV SUD GRC Channel on jurisdictional business opportunities
  • Understanding all services to sell within the organization, both ARISE, TUV SUD GRC and TUV SUD America.
  • Participating in TUV SUD GRC Regional Meetings.
  • Serving as a back-up for other members of the account management team while they are traveling or conducting marketing functions. 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering is preferred and/or equivalent practical experience.
  • Special Certification / Designations (Including requirement of driver’s license) National Board Commission and Certificate of Competency to inspect boilers and pressure vessels.
  • 7-10 years in a similar position
